Journal, 1820, kept on a journey from Boston to Illinois and eastern Missouri. Copies of letters sent to stock holders and clients regarding Illinois land titles and company business with references to the Illinois State Bank, Internal Improvements Act of 1837, New Revenue Bill of 1839, Wabash Canal and the Alton, Wabash and Erie Railroad. Letters to Ninian Edwards, Philander Chase, John Palmer, Stephen T. Logan, and Orville H. Browning. Approximately 460 letters. Also has Tillson's company expenditures and accounts for 260 customers. Notebook, 1833-1834, of descriptions of military bounty lands, mostly in Illinois, for which Tillson was the agent.
